GAN
TIFFANY GORDON—Tiffany is originally from Brookline and graduated from Tufts University
in 2005 with a BA in Judaic Studies. She teaches Hebrew school full time
in Cambridge-the Kesher program. She is planning to go to rabbinic school
in there near future and currently lives in Brookline with her new husband,
Jared, and their two four-legged children.
ALEPH
RACHEL HALL—Rachel has been teaching religious school for three years;
this will be her second year at HBT. She received a Master’s degree
in Cultural Studies at Simmons College, focusing on the intersection of
race, class and gender. Her first graders constantly remind her of the
truth and brilliance children have to offer….if we only listen.
BET
RACHELE ROSI-KESSEL—Rachele is a Jew-by-Choice
who gave up an ordained ministry focusing on Religious Education in the
Unitarian
Universalist
Association in order to follow her heart to Judaism. She studied Biblical
Hebrew at Harvard and has four years of experience teaching children. Rachele
lives in Roslindale with her husband and one-year-old daughter.
GIMEL
MICHELLE GREENFIELD—Michelle recently graduated from Brandeis
University. She is working with women and children at Sandra’s
Lodge Family Shelter in Waltham. This will be her second year at HBT
as a teacher and leader of Explorer’s Shabbat.
HILLARY PINSKER (Wednesdays)—Hillary has been teaching religious school
in
Reconstructionist settings for several years with a focus on 3rd grade,
and has
A Master's degrees in Jewish Education and Jewish
Studies. She recently moved within Boston to West
Roxbury with her wife and cat. She is in graduate
school for Jewish Studies at Boston University and
enjoys soccer and ideas.
ALEXANDRA COLTIN (Sundays)—Ali graduated from UMASS, Amherst,
and is in graduate school in a Master’s program. She has been working
in Jewish education since high school, in both camp and classroom settings.
Ali has won many awards for her Jewish leadership roles.
DALET
YAEL SHAPIRA-Yael is a student at Boston University, majoring in International
Relations. She has worked as a teacher and camp counselor, here and in
Israel.
HAY
ADINA VOGEL-
Adina is returning for her second year at HBT. She is a student at Boston
University with Ariel and Yael.
VAV
ELYSE RAST—Elyse has been a professional educator for twelve years.
She has two Master’s degrees and teaches at three synagogues and
runs two youth groups. In addition to teaching vav, Elyse will facilitate
the 6th grade book group, the Rosh Hodesh group and the youth group.
She has two wonderful children Jake and Emily, and runs a birthday party
business-birthdaybydesign.com.
ARIEL GOLDSTEIN—Ariel Goldstein is student at Boston University.
A Philadelphia native, a graduate of a Jewish day school with camp and
teaching experience, she is excited to experience
Jewish life in a new city. This is her first year at HBT, and she looks forward
to working with the students.
CHET/TET
ADAM MAYER-DEUTSCH—Adam is a senior at Brandeis, majoring in Judaic
Studies and Hebrew. Adam has been teaching religious school for four
years, and this is his second year at HBT. He is also a long distance
runner.
MUSIC
SHAYNDEL KAHN-Shayndel just recently graduated from the Cantorial
Certificate program this past June. Shayndel has worked in several
synagogues leading
children's services and also song leading. She is also HBT's minyan
leader on Monday and Thursday evenings and on Sunday morning. She looks
forward to working at HBT this year and getting to know all the children
and parents.
