Shabbat service

This Shabbat, on September 3, our Rabbi will return to lead Shabbat services. Just in time for Labor Day, she will be discussing current issues in workers- rights.

This Shabbat also marks Rosh Hodesh Elul, the beginning of a month of reflection in preparation for the Yamim Nora'im, the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. We will chant Hallel and sing Rabbi's Penzner's original "New Moon" to celebrate Shabbat Rosh Hodesh.

This year, Rabbi Penzner will again send out regular reflections throughout the month. Entitled Elul Encounters, they will help us encounter the prayers and themes of the holy days by drawing on the uniquely Reconstructionist approach found in the machzor (prayerbook) HBT uses, Renew Our Days.

If you are interested in receiving Elul Encounters, please notify Benita in the office.

You may aIso want to acquire or borrow a copy of the book, using it to begin your own work of teshuvah,  repentance. Please check with Benita if you'd like to borrow a book.
