PURIM IMPROV WORKSHOP

  • Sunday, March 17, 2024

  • 4:00-6:00pm

  • open to adults and teens

Whether you have taken improv classes before or are ready to try something new with your HBT friends, you are invited to join Rabbi Noyo for a fun workshop that combines the story of Purim with the hilarity of improv acting! We will learn a few improv games to make up scenes involving the characters or events of the Megillah, perhaps also embracing this year's Purim theme of TV commercials.

Will Esther tell the king and Haman she's Jewish at a banquet at McDonald's?

Will Vashti refuse to dance for the king unless he buys her car insurance?

We'll find out as we go!

Participants will also have the opportunity to write 2-3 short planned sketches to perform at the Purim Extravanganza, in addition to making up brand new scenes using the games we learn based on suggestions from the congregation.

You do not have to be able to come to the Purim Extravaganza to take part in the improv workshop, but it is highly recommended!
