In our unique Reconstructionist services, Rabbi Barbara Penzner serves as cantor as well as rabbi. We use the Reconstructionist Machzor (prayerbook) Chadesh Yameinu, Renew Our Days, including Hebrew, English translation, a transliteration for those who do not yet read Hebrew, and readings for contemplation.

We intend to keep services accessible for those who will not attend in person, by continuing to provide Zoom links. If you plan to participate remotely, you can pick up your book at the temple or download a Machzor pdf.

We look forward to bringing you close and shine a bright light on our world for the year 5783.

The Jewish New Year

Our community practice on Yom Kippur is to dress in white. Even if you are participating remotely, we urge you to prepare yourself as if you were coming into the sanctuary, and create a holy space, free of distractions, for optimum attention to prayer and contemplation.

KOL NIDRE - Tuesday, October 4, 5:45pm

The Kol Nidre service is co-led by Susannah Sirkin with Rabbi Penzner.

As you enter, please take a tallit but do not put it on until we recite the blessing together as a community.

Lev Mamuya continues the tradition of playing Bloch's Kol Nidre on the cello before the rabbi chants the prayer. Temple past presidents carry the Torah scrolls into the congregation for our first Kol Nidre in our rededicated space.
