Family Programming
High Holy Days 5787 / 2026 at Temple Hillel B'nai Torah, West Roxbury
Bring the whole family. Kids' sounds, wiggles, and questions are part of what makes this a warm, sacred space — not a distraction from it.
Whether your child is a baby, a toddler, or a teenager, there's a program built with them in mind, and a place for you to be fully present too.
Programs
Intergenerational Family Service
Grades 0–2, with grownups. Join Jon Wishnie, Rachel Shapp, and Poppy the Puppet! From the Barechu to the shofar blasts, our melodies, stories, and prayers will help us share in the holiness, reflection, and sweetness of the New Year. Stay for snack!
Children's Service
Grades 3–6 gather for a service designed especially for them, with Rena Coben & Asher Cohen. This program is open to HBT members. Not a member yet? Everyone's welcome at The Rosh Hashanah Puzzle, below.
Teen Group

The Rosh Hashanah Puzzle
Ages 0–12 & Their Grown-Ups: Generations Together, with Anna Sobel of Talking Hands Theatre — part puppet show, part sing-along, part scavenger hunt! Help familiar fairy tale characters figure out what they need to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. Non-members and Friends of HBT are welcome. Stay for snack and community.

Childcare
Childcare is available for ages 3 and up with advance registration by September 8:
Erev Rosh Hashanah (Fri, Sept 11) — 7:00–8:30 PM
Rosh Hashanah Day 1 (Sat, Sept 12) — 9:30 AM–1:00 PM
Rosh Hashanah Day 2 (Sun, Sept 13) — 9:30 AM–1:00 PM
Kol Nidre (Sun, Sept 20) — 6:15–8:30 PM
Yom Kippur (Mon, Sept 21) — 9:30 AM–1:30 PM
Specify the dates you need childcare in the registration form, then register to reserve your spot.
