Ne'ilah

  • 6:15, Prayerful end to our day as the sun sets (available on car radios as well)

  • 6:45, Havdalah and Final Shofar blast outdoors in the parking lot

  • 7:00, Festive Breakfast for all in the parking lot and social hall, as you choose

First Day of Rosh Hashanah

Festive new music to celebrate the New Year with singers and instrumental accompaniment. Everyone will have the option to join in an aliyah to the Torah. Rabbi's sermon: "Breaking Down the Walls, One Stone at a Time". Reflections by Katy Abel, David Brenner, and Claudia Harris. Children join the sanctuary service for the shofar and closing of the service.

At our MLK service, which will be in person and on Zoom, Rabbi Barbara will be joined by member Sharin Horvitz on guitar as we sing Freedom Songs and folk songs (introduced by explaining the origins and uses of each song), with instruments and harmony. Not to be missed!

First Day of Rosh Hashanah

FIRST DAY OF ROSH HASHANAH - Tuesday, Sept. 7, 10:00am - 12:30pm, Remote & In-Person

Morning services in the sanctuary and programming for children and teens will begin promptly at 10am. Among the traditional psalms, join in welcoming the New Year singing Cat Stevens’ “Morning has Broken” and Debbie Friedman’s “Holy Place” with our musicians. 

The Torah service, shofar, and dedication will take place from 10:45am until 12 noon, with additional joyful music and group aliyot to include everyone. At noon the rabbi will give her sermon, “Practicing Hope.” The service will end at 12:30pm. 

10:00am - 10:45am, shacharit (morning prayers)

10:45am - 12 noon, Dedication, Torah service, shofar

12 noon - 12:15pm, sermon

12:15pm - 12:30pm, closing of the service

Shabbat and Sukkot  

Time to rejoice over our blessings with Hallel, as we welcome the holiday of Sukkot with an abbreviated service.

Be sure to have instruments nearby to add to the festivities and a pumpkin or gourd or squash for your holy space.

We will share what has made us feel grateful in this season, and welcome each other into the Sukkah.

Parking lot Neilah

Joining together to hear the final Shofar blast

6:45 PM - 7:15 PM
Neilah prayers. As darkness descends, everyone is invited to park in the parking lot and hear the Rabbi chant the closing prayers in your cars. The service will also be available on Zoom.

7:15 PM
Havdalah and final shofar blast. The rabbi will come to the parking lot to greet everyone (masks please) and to sound the final shofar blast.
