Creating a High Holy Day season that is both warm and secure is something the whole community shares. The Bitachon Committee has spent the year strengthening HBT's security infrastructure, working more closely with Chaverim School leadership, and updating our emergency response procedures. This page is where that work meets you: what to expect, what you can do, and how to get involved.
Those who greet people at our doors are often the first faces our members and guests see. Welcome Team members, ushers, door monitors, registration volunteers, and our lay-led safety team all help create an atmosphere that is both welcoming and secure, and it takes many hands, not just a few.
What We're Doing
- Trained volunteers at every entrance — ushers, greeters, and door monitors who are present, attentive, and prepared
- Coordination with local law enforcement and the Secure Community Network (SCN), the national safety organization for Jewish communities
- Ongoing training for anyone serving on the Welcoming Team, covering situational awareness, welcoming presence, and how to respond if something feels off
- Updated emergency procedures, reviewed and practiced ahead of the holidays
