What are we doing as a synagogue community in this political moment?
Organizing, training and discussion on how we act in the world as HBT in the current political landscape.
· Bagels, coffee, and purpose provided.
· RSVP so we may plan accordingly.
We are living in times that are completely unprecedented in our lifetimes. Democratic norms are under attack, people are literally being rounded up off the streets, basic humanity does not seem to be a value.
Many in our congregation are very upset about what is happening, and we're often not sure what to do about it.
Over the coming months, we will be bringing our community together to be in conversation about how we are feeling and what we can do as HBT.
This starts with listening to one another, in one-to-one conversations, articulating what is most important to us, and making a plan for what we can do as a synagogue community, together.
Please join us for a multi-generational gathering and training on Sunday morning, July 27th. We will partake in a training on relational organizing (especially through one-to-one conversations) and power building, with the assistance of GBIO leaders, Ashley Adams, and Rabbi Aliza. We will then partake in one-to-ones with one another, to begin the process of making plans for how we act in the world as HBT in the current political landscape.
Please join us and please text three friends to join you. If you have a teen, we especially welcome their engagement.
Note: We will end this program promptly at 12pm so that anyone participating in Laurie Rotman's Jewish Roxbury Walk Tour will be able to get there on time.
